UNIMED Projects & Activities
Digital education has been at the centre of the higher education agenda for years, and the pandemic suddenly increased the speed at which digital is radically changing education, as well as every aspect of everyday’s life. UNIMED prioritises digital as a means to drive change in higher education, working at the intersection of the future of learning, cultures of innovation, policy frameworks, and human-centered educational technologies across the Mediterranean and beyond. You can discover more on the UNIMED work and engagement on this thematic through its SubNetwork and projects.
In these days it has just started the ALL DIGITAL Weeks 2023 campaign. Running from April 17th to May 7th, the campaign is supported by the European Commission as it strongly contributes to the promotion of the European Year of Skills. UNIMED is among the partners supporting this campaign. More information is available here.
UNIMED greatly values students' voice and role as well as intercultural dialogue. Along the years, UNIMED has launched several initiatives to further promote these aspects of the Euro-Mediterranean cooperation.
We are now at the seventh edition of the UNIMED Award at the Venice International Film Festival. The UNIMED Award, collateral prize of the Venice International Film Festival, results from the collaboration between la Biennale of Venice, the International University of Rome – UNINT and UNIMED. This annual award, launched in 2017, is assigned by a jury of international students coming from UNIMED associated universities to the competing movie that best reflects the value of cultural diversity, promotes freedom of artistic expression and cultural exchanges. We have just opened the call addressed to our member Universities' students to form the students jury of this year edition of the UNIMED Award at the Venice International Film Festival (30 August - 9 September, 2023).
It is, instead, at its second edition the Mediterranean Student Summit: a new yearly initiative launched by the Erasmus Student Network International – ESN and UNIMED in 2022. The Mediterranean Student Summit is an event that seeks to bring together Higher Education students from both shores of the Mediterranean, to foster intercultural dialogue and to work together on common challenges. This year edition will be held in Tangier, hosted by the Abdelmalek Essaâdi University from 20th to 22nd September 2023 and our member Universities have received in the last few days the call for their students to be part of this year edition.
